Fifteen years ago the BT concept was born from a minimalist approach to design and construction. We asked ourselves, what does a wheelchair really need? The answer was simple: comfort and convenience in an attractive, lightweight design.

The BT-Mg is a sleek and lightweight wheelchair with a magnesium (*) frame. This highly customizable chair stays slim by utilizing magnesium frame construction, titanium hardware, laminated carbon upholstery, Vapor O2 rear wheels and Frog Legs Uni-tine caster forks. Add it all up, and you have an Impossibly Light™ chair! Transport weight is just 8.4 pounds for a 16″ x 16″ frame and 15.5 pounds for the entire chair (excluding removable seat cushions).

* Magnesium is the lightest structural metal on the planet! It is roughly 35% lighter than aluminum and 62% lighter than titanium by volume, yet has tensile strength comparable to 6061-T6 aluminum. Magnesium alloys are exceptionally resistant to corrosion and boast ten times the vibration dampening capacity of other metals like aluminum, steel or titanium. This makes magnesium the ideal construction material for lightweight shock absorption and smooth riding.
